usually as least one day a week, it all depends on how many routes the office has,i can't remember working less than at least 2 days a week, sometimes 3,4,5 days, it is smart to learn as many routes as possible you get up to 24 hrs. trainging per route -when other subs are unavailable you can pick up time on their routes, also depends on how much time the regular carriers have for sick hours-vacation.extra hours at Christmas.many aslo carry mail on the city side as a casual as well as being rca but for a lower rate.i only work as a rca as of 9/7 i made 24,500 this year.as far as going full time i am the senoir rca with 4 years in and will have to wait a 1 1/2 longer till fulltime.usual a wait can be from 5-10 years.by the way our office has 6 rural routes.as far as city ptf's they are guaranteed 30 hrs.-week but usually work more, benefits, work saturdays-it is not easy to land a ptf job post office take tranfers.

Harold, every community is different so I think your best bet for finding the information you want is to inquire at the main postal facility where you live. If that information is not easily accessible to you, then ask a postal clerk at the post office whom you might contact. Good Luck.
