i went to the hospital monday & the doctors there told me i`m 30% effaced. i`m not due until october 22nd. Does this sound normal ? Does this mean my baby is cominq sooner ? What caused me to be 30% effaced already ?

Your body is just getting ready, it could stay 30% effaced for 2 weeks and then become 50% and just keep progressing so on and so forth, it's nothing bad, it's natural.

Good Luck & Congrats!

This is perfectly normal!! I was 100% effaced and dialated to 3-4 centimeters a month before I gave birth with two of my children. So unfortunately it doesn't mean that baby is coming sooner. Your body is just prepping and getting ready for child birth. It does take time for everything to happen and thankfully so. I'm glad that it all starts a month or so ahead of schedule so that we don't have to wait for everything to happen while we are in labor. Good luck

I was 50% effaced for 3 weeks, and 100% effaced and dialted to 2 for 2 weeks before giving birth. It's fine. Your body is preparing for labor, and the more it gets done now, the less it'll have to do when you are in labor.

We're due the same day! Congrats. You should be fine. Unless they told you it was something to worry about when you were there, I wouldn't. If you have contractions at all, keep track of them and call the dr if you have more than 4 an hour. There's really no way to tell if this means you'll go early or not. Everyone (and every pregnancy) is different.

You'll probably go early. There's a good chance you'll deliver at 37-38 weeks with IS considered full term and TOTALLY normal. Just feel lucky it's not the other way, delivering at 41-42 weeks is NOT fun :)
