I give them a dollar bill because I gave 50 cents one time and the homeless guys yelled at me he said 50 cents only I said no wonder you are homeless because you don't appreciate anything that's been given out of kindness.

Last time I did that was like 6 years ago. I haven't seen any homeless people anymore. So no, I don't.

No. You may as well just buy them booze or drugs. This guy is always on a corner near my apartment holding a sign saying "I need money for food" (and if he can spend all day in one spot why not get a job?) so I bought him a sandwich in the Subway across the street from his spot and he threw it at me! (the six inch would have hurt less.) They are on the street due to their life choices, there's plenty of help for them in the cities if they want to make a change.

I would rather buy them food or something to drink. You never what they'll do with all the spare change they collect. There was a guy who claimed to be homeless in downtown. It turns out he was rich according to a friend that worked in the bank he banked at.

i always do... my friend always says that 'they will just spend that on drugs' but to be honest, its their money now & its their choice. once, i gave this homeless man 5euro when i was in madrid and my friend told me i was stupid...later, by pure chance we walked down the same street and he came running up to me and pulled out a translation book so that he could learn learn spanish (hes english)..he showed me the receipt and everything. it was really incredible, and i know not all of the money people gives it put to good use, but sometimes, it is. :)
sometimes though, its better to buy them food (and food for their dog) lol

Yes, although it is better to buy them food, but we still give money to homeless people because its THEIR choice if they want to use it for alcohol or drugs its just spare change they aren't hurting my pocket or me they are hurting themselves with such habits. Point said and done. I'm out.

No, I vounteer at homeless and abuse shelters every week. I also find out what the needs are and spread the word so people know what to donate to those shelters.
