Gosh jibby, calm down, your blood pressure is gonna skyrocket. Anyways...
This is not a problem at all. Here's what you need to do.
1st, don't waste your time with AVG, true sword, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, superantispyware, avast, panda, kaspersky, spyware blaster, bitdefender, spyware guard, windows defender or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE when it comes to spyware and antivirus. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.
2nd, You need some of the best software out there. Norton Systemworks is very good. That's the only good software from Norton. I wouldn't recommend Norton Internet security, its not that great. Now the best software you should get is Spysweeper with Anti-virus, this software is too good and gets better everyday. This is Elite software. It blocks over 450,000 definition threats, which contain multiple fringerprints with each(you can do the math). No other software can compete with that or come close for that matter. It catches everything and has active shields. I've used them all and it is 2nd to none.
3rd, after you install and update the software, since its in your system you will have to turn off system restore and then go into safe mode and run the scan and eliminate the virus. then after removal, reboot and turn system restore back on.
4th, (Optional) I recommend a Firewall from Zone Alarm, their free version is so good. Or you can buy their Pro version, but the free version will do more than the job.
5th, any probs during or after you do all this, send me an e-mail or IM. I guarenDAMNtee my answers and will help you in person from IM if needed.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

You father putting Norton on your computer is not the problem. I am willing to bet good money that you are the problem. You are what is infecting the computer by illegally stealing "stuff" by using a P2P file-stealing software such as Kaaza or Limewire. Am I correct??? Don't blame Norton. Don't blame Dad. Blame yourself!

Using Limewire, Kazza or ANY OTHER peer-to-peer (P2P) programs to illegally steal music, software and movies etc. without paying for it, is one of the leading causes of virus, trojan, and spyware infections. Many downloads using P2P file-sharing programs are loaded with malware

LIMEWIRE IS NOT A WEBSITE.

You will be downloading "stuff" from unknown stranger's computers while these strangers will be downloading some of your files from your computer at the same time. You do not download from any website.

It is amazing that people who would never accept and eat a sandwich from a stranger, don't think twice about downloading a file to their PC from a perfect stranger, who lives half-way around the World!

If you don't know the difference between a .wmp (good) file from a .wmf (potentially very bad) file or a .zip from a .pif, then stay away from Limewire, Kazaa, and all P2P programs. The same is true if you don't know the difference between a song that is 25kb in size from one that is 3 mb in size. The smaller one is probably a Trojan, just waiting for you to infect your computer with.

P2P file-sharing is no place for computer novices. Even experienced expert users get infected using P2P at times.

If you must use P2P, always scan every file you download with both your anti-virus and your anti-spyware before you open it.
..................

And don't forget the legality issues.

Using Limewire or any other P2P file sharing program such as Kaaza or Bearshare, (free or paid) to share any copyrighted music, movies, software etc. in illegal in the USA.

It is fairly rare, but people do get sued and fined for using these P2P programs. Such as this 12 year old girl here:

www.grisoft.com

Somewhere hidden on that site, is the FREE AVG anti-virus scanner that works impressively well. You're reminded to update it when necessary---and updates are FREE!

I've long lost faith or respect for Norton and/or McAfee--both of whom charge customers for virus scanner updates.

I am of the belief that PC users shouldn't have to pay to be protected from virus senders and spammers. After all, hackers don't pay to meddle with your PC, now do they?

I personally prefer McAfee to Norton... however, anti-virus is only as good as it's user... it must be up-to-date with a current license and version... it must be properly CONFIGURED and you also need to have safe habits.

Be nice to your dad... mine is a real jerk and I would give anything for one who cared. You would feel terrible if he ever read what you said... internet posts are forever.

Good luck.
