The reason that the Democratic candidates don't speak out is that they are allies with Moveon.org. and the mass media.
Their common goal is to see the destruction of George Bush's presidency and open the path for their nominee next election.
To the Democrats, Bush is the son that could never do anything right for his parents.
I say that because he had Ted Kennedy help do the Education bill, and they condemn it.
They helped write the campaign reform bill that allowed Moveon.org to be formed. They say he didn't go far enough.
They got on board with the war on terror, and let some of their supporters say it was a Bush setup and call for retreat in all corners.
They call for closed borders, but when they were in charge of congress for 40+ years they did nothing but add them to their base. So where does he go for help on immigration help? To the parents he could never please.
They call for a minimum wage increase, which effects maybe 7% of workers. Bush went along with it like a good guy, but it wasn't high enough for them and the unions. You wouldn't find union members at these wages anyway, but this sets a higher standard to work with at bargining time.
My father was a union official, and I remember his trips to Washington.
More than once I felt Bush was a Democratic sleeper, but then he has issues he'll stand put on, and the parents ire gets up again.
As to who runs the party, the extreme left groups aren't afraid to spend money, and money lubs the machine.
Needless to say to both parties it's a serious game, it's a game of power. The question is which one has the country's and it's people's true interest's at heart and which would like to see the principles the nation was built on destroyed?
As to which will guide the nation after the next election is not up to these people and their moneybags, it's you, me and other Americians who go the ballot box that have the real power. I suggest we use that power with more thought than many in Congress do.

No. I think they might be waiting to see if moveon.org is right. The jury is still out, but seems to be leaning toward their point of view that Gen. Patraes (sp?) might just be saying what the president wanted him to say rather than being a soldier doing his duty for his country.
In other words, moveon.org's statement was crude and unbecoming, but might just be accurate.

Why would they speak out against moveon.org? That doesn't make any sense....
That would be like us gay closet conservatives bashing OUR President and Commander in Chief, George W. Bush.
