All the jeans I've tried that fit my butt have this huge gape in the back of the waist. Does anyone know why?? And is there anything I can do to prevent it or make it less noticeable, or a style I should look for?

most likely the gap is because of the jeans themselves. They might not be the right cut or fit for you. you may want to try styles labelled as curvy or hip slung. I have a similar problem. by the time I fit my hips and thighs the wait gaps. I love the hip slung and boot cut jeans from J. Crew the best.

as a second option, tailoring is also good. I have to do that with the length, since I am short and nothing ever fits me.

You can buy the jeans that fit you the best everywhere else, then have the waist taken in. Most dry cleaners will alter.

Better yet, just get custom made jeans. That way they will fit perfectly all over. Not only do they look great, but they're really comfortable too. They start at just $45.00!

Lane Bryant has "right fit" jeans that are incredible! I don't normally wear clothes from there, but the jeans are amazing. When you go in they will measure you and address any issues and put you in the perfect pair of jeans for you.
