When you use the vacuum hose thing, does the bottom vacuum work too? Like, can you use 2 of them at a time or does the bottom vacuum turn off when you get the hose out?

No, every one I have ever used, it is either one or the other.

No, at least not with the vacuum I use. The suction comes through the hose, which is usually fastened to a hose that leads to the bottom of the vacuum. So when you take the hose up to use an attachment, the bottom has no suction to it at all.

All the ones I had, you can only use one at a time.
