I think sometimes yes you do once you start to lie it is almost impossible to tell the truth
lies are very addictive and once spoken it starts a chain reaction where everything else has to be a lie in order to sustain the first one
as time goes on it becomes impossible to tell truth from fiction and liars usually end up believeing their own lies or justifying the lie rather than admit it
this is compulsive lying

I know what starts in a lie only ends in alie.
So i would say yes its a consistant lie, now it could be about different things but are you really going to stop since you started?

I think that you could say that. Rather than being caught in the lie, you have to lie more. It is a nasty web.

How many of us live a truly honest life, however?

It is very possible that one lies in order to live, but also that one's lie is less necessary than that. It can be a matter of cowardice, shame, indolence or ambition, depending on the particulars of the situation.

The ego is defensive and lies to live - avoiding whatever existential death it has learned to fear as worse than physical death. If you identify with your imprinted ego identity you are not only living a lie you are dead already. It is incapable of 'full aliveness' BUT fortunately you are NOT your little ego identity.

once you start lying about something you will keep lying to cover up the first lie and then you get used to it, and so and so... at the end you'll be living a lie.
