Are you an older mom? BTW in pregnancy an older mom would be someone over the age of 35. They offer different during pregnancy to determine genetic defects. One is a blood test that tells the doctor if you are at risk for your baby developing genetic defects. IF that comes back positive then they offer you an amniocentesis (where they withdraw fluid from the amniotic sac.) The other reason you would have an amnio is if you are of advanced maternal age (over 35). You should have called the doctors office to ask which test you were scheduled for b4 you cancelled it. I also don't understand the doctor's c-section comment. Most docs only schedule for c-sections if necessary not just because. You only need an additional 300 calories during pregnancy so if you are hungry than eat something, just make it a healthy choice like fruits or vegetables or some whole wheat pasta. Doctors don't spend alot of time with you when you come it and in my experience don't spend alot of time informing you of things. It is just the way that they are. there are several books on pregnancy. You should get the what to expect when your expecting book to answer several of your questions. If you have questions it is your right as a patient to ask them and have them answered. Prepare a list before each appt of questions that you want answered by the doctor. If you have a question in between appointments and you can't wait until the next appt than call the doctors office. A nurse at the office can answer your question. If you still don't feel comfortable with this doc than change. I am sure that she is not the only doctor that delivers babies at the hospital you like.

That's a good observation....a star for you. I never thought of pms cause I am beyond that . I have PHANTOM pms which isn't near as rough. lol
