Depends. Why would you make me ride in the back? What's the weather like? What type of road? Are there a lot of other cars? So many variables.
If it was a warm sunny day on a road with few or no cars I wouldn't mind. If there were a bunch of cars so that I was choking on exhaust or if it was really cold or raining then yes I'd be upset!
I still wonder at the reason....hmm

A lawnmower!!!! That seems like something you would want. You are suppose to treat your wife like she is the most beautiful woman in the world. So ething sexy. Like diamonds or car would have been better. And if she was my wife I would also give her the best sex of her life. Women want romance, a lawnmower is not romantic or sensual. That says go mow! Car would have better only because of the fact that she really needed one. Go buy her a necklace or something. Nice dinner and present it to her at dinner. You'll get some and she will love you for it. Hey I'm only a 16 year old guy, not bad right? My wife will be lucky! No lawnmower for her.

no one makes me do anything, and depending on the weather as to if i would be upset at that suggestion of riding in the back of the truck

Yes because in this state if it does not have seatbelts I can not ride in the back.

If there's a empty seat in the front, I wouldn't be upset but it wouldn't be to my liking if the common courtesy wasn't being offered.
