I'm fascinated most by the Cherokee culture! When they were driven from their lands, some hid in the Smokey Mountains [NC] and Magazine Mountains [AR]. Others walked [Trail of Tears] to what is now Tahlequah, Oklahoma! Most experienced horrendous hardships! While, thousands died along the trail, many others starved to death once reaching their destination. Despite it all, they have managed to persevere.

each is unique........wish i could learn more about Oriental culture. I've been around a lot of Mexican families, and I can tell you that they're quite fun........the women all out in the kitchen cooking and the guys all watching the game and talking of work and life, and the older kids watching the younger ones.........and all talking loudly and robustly. It's a big celebration........certainly festive and family-centered. We as Americans need to take a lesson from this.

I've been reading about Santeria which is an indigenous culture that has become a bit known but practices some neat, near-vodou stuff!! I'm not going to run out and kill a chicken or anything, but it is neat that people have faith that is grounded in tradition no matter how much they are scorned and ostracized.
