Bit of both I think. We try to live as we want, according to our values with our fam anf friends - but sometimes we have to make do with what we get.
I make do at the moment - but one day I will sail away .....

I would venture to guess that most people are resigned to the
life they have. But not content. Most don't make enough money and live from paycheck to paycheck and rely on their
credit cards to get them through the month. Keeping up with
the "Jones's" is a fact of life living in the suburbs in a nice
housing community and having everything that their neighbors
have, for appearance sake.
Because they have jobs that manage to pay the bills or
almost, they stay in their same routines, and jobs, feeling
unsafe to change for another job field. So they just cope
throughout their lives. So they still want more, but getting it,
is the reality. And so they often go into debt, just because
they want more and try to get it.
I think it's a very brave person who has the strength and
determination to drop what they are doing for a living, and
take on a lessor paying occupation, to live with less stress,
and live without the extras they were enjoying, to have peace
of mind, once again.

Hmm, good Q, I think that some people myself included aren't living the life they want, it's either to do with moeny or just life that you can't always have what you want. I'm I guess just living with what I have and trying to be content. For example I would love to be married with kids, now I'm not sure If 'll ever achieve it, but I sure hope I do, that is the life I would like to live . I hope that makes sence.

It is a combination of the two ingredients. You make yourself content not someone or something. It is how you decide for yourself how you will react to each and every adventure that is thrown in your facial path called life. From time to time people question whether or not they have selected the correct path out of many possibilities, and they also know that they are the only ones who can make positive changes in their lives and in others' lives.

I think that most people are pretty happy but we all want more. We always think, "If I could just have that car I would be happy" or "If I just had that new pair of boots then I would be happy". Then after we get the car or new pair of boots we find something else that we just cannot live without. That's why I believe in Heaven. I know that I am never totally satisfied with life, even though I have a wonderful life.

I'm not living how I want because I haven't won a huge lottery yet nor have I inherited a load of money from a rich relative. I have no plans of actually earning the money to live the way I want so I'm doomed to a life of mediocrity and envy.
If my rich aunt who won the lottery would die soon things would change.

So many times I see people and think they are so happy and content but then when I sit and talk to them they tell me just the opposite.. Makes me wonder sometimes if people are ever happy, ever satisfied.

That's a very good question. I think people are basically happy with their life. But there are a lot of people who aren't happy, and they try to find happiness in a bottle or drugs or in wild ways.
