I know Martin Scorsese is a great director and many people are very passionate about most of his movies. However, the only one I really liked was The Aviator; although I generally liked The Departed, Gangs of New York, and Bringing Out the Dead.

I've seen:
Raging Bull
Casino
Good Fellas
Kundun
The Last Temptation of Christ
Bringing Out the Dead
Gangs of New York
The Color of Money
Taxi Driver

And last night I started watching Mean Streets but turned it off after an hour because it just didn't seem to have a story. It was just these guys doing things with no real story to bring them together.

I don't know what it is about Scorsese's movies, but there's just something about the stories that don't really connect with me.

tonydal: I continue to watch Scorsese's movies because I love movies and because I at least want the context. Besides, I have liked a couple of his movies so it's always possible I'll like the one I haven't seen. But at this point I think I'm done trying to catch up on his older stuff - except maybe Cape Fear.

Hell NO! You are not the only one who isn't a big fan of Martin Scorsese movies. I've seen all those movies on there and Mean Streets. He is defeinitly on my top-10 favorite movie directors of all time.

I would say GoodFellas and Taxi Driver (especially) are two of my favorite movies. I also liked The Last Waltz quite a bit too--and The Color of Money was pretty good. I never thought too much of Raging Bull; and I agree with you about Mean Streets. I did manage to stick it out to the end--but it didn't have much of a point, as I could see it. Last Temptation I stood for about 10 minutes before pulling the plug--the crap detector was already pinned to the red. (By the way, why are you watching all these movies if you don't really like the guy?)
