I LOVE to dance --well I don't dance now -a-days my balance wont let me .
When I first married my husband , we were sent to another state (USAF) and I was soooo shy .
They had a dance contest one weekend and I 'wowed' every one by winning it ---without Hubby even! He couldn't keep up with me and sat down. Nope I am not shy on the dance floor !

I love to swing dance! I'd definitly refer to myself as a jitterbug, but did you know "the jitterbug" isn't a unique dance?
Jitterbug is actually a general term for any type of swing dancing, but is often mislabeled as being the same as East Coast Swing (I prefer to think of Jitterbug as a dancer rather than a specific dance).
East Coast Swing is the simplest form of swing dancing that everyone learns when they first start dancing swing, but have you ever heard of Lindy Hop?
Lindy Hop is the original form of swing dancing that was developed from the Charleston in Harlem in the 1920's. The dance brought swing dancing to the mainstream with it's high energy footwork. A young dancer from the Savoy Ballroom named Frankie Manning was the first person to put an aerial (or an airstep) into the dance, forever changing what people perceived as swing dancing.
Today Lindy Hop is still danced all accross the country, and events called "Lindy Exchanges" are going on every weekend throughout the year.
