At Auburn University we have an eagle who slowly circles the stadium while descending to a mark in the middle of the field. The eagle does this right before kick off and its an awesome thing to see. Auburn's battle cry is War Eagle!. There is a history behind the tradition.

Auburn also has one of the best veterinarian schools in the country. The eagle has an aviary fit for a king to live in. I don't see anything wrong with live mascots as long as they receive the care they need.

LSU's tiger has an incredible habitat. It's far nicer than just about any zoo's habitat I've seen. I believe the tiger they recently acquired was from a rescue facility as well. In addition, Mike resides about a block from the vet school and has an overly dedicated staff tending to him. So, no, as long as the animal is properly cared for, I see it as a non-issue.

As long as the animal is trained not to attack others,or be nervous in crowds. If the animal is not being mistreated or made to do dangerous stunts. If the animal is being well takend cared for by a professional, being fed properly, and has had rabie shots, then I'd say it's cool!.

The only problem is that they are hard to hold down. They wiggle too much.
