Republican Senator John Warner asked General Petraeus at the hearing on Iraq if the war in Iraq was making America safer and the General could not say that it was. No, we are not safe and now Bin Laden has accomplished just what he wants and that is for a large portion of the World to hate us. Al Qaida wasn't in Iraq until we invaded them. We need to use some diplomacy instead of creating more terrorists.

Safe from terrorists? Yup!
So a couple might get through the border and blow something up or cause a local disturbance. Your personal odds of being at the target, at the wrong time are about zero.
While even one death from a terrorist strike would be a tragedy, I feel the greater harm is the reactions of fear and paranoia within the population, and stupid governmental posturing and ineffective reaction.
That's what costs us!
We can always make new people and buildings. Both are simple in this country.

According to reliable sources on Glen Beck for the past two nights and the last segment Thursday night, we are not.
Al Quadi have made plans to attack our children at the school and school buses here in the U.S. Several arrest have been made while filming American schools.
This was backed up by A terror Analyst and Police Commissioner & others.
Their mission is to cause panic in America. I say they have no idea what American parents will do to them if they get a hold of them. These attacks are planned through Al-Quadi
and not expecting any of these terrorists to return back to their country. That's scary.
The same type of Islamic radicals are the ones that held the Beslan school in Russia about two years ago of 1200 children. They raped and killed many children. Does this sound like an religion to you?

What made you think we were safe before 9/11? There is nothing certain but death. The trick is to not live in fear.

see my avatar and the Q about worry!
Also, when I die I know where I will go immediately by the grace of my Savior so I don't care if I am at ground zero, I don't worry about it since the bible,God says worry is a sin, opposite of trusting Him. Everyone can and should have that kind of incredible peace that passes all human understanding!

Lettie D is absolutely right.
The commanding general in Iraq said it straight up.
He doesn't know if we are safer here in America from our actions in Iraq.
Straight from the horses mouth.
What more proof do you need?

We are safer. Of course we are not completely safe - that would be impossible.

we are too cautious to a fault. Because of that we have lost the war on terrorism by bowing to it and scrutinizing the wrong people.
