Pathetic, we are stealing Iraqi's oil, why all those soldiers are dying so Bush's international Oil Cronies can make even more money. Truly sad.

Those who haven't known that all along are ignorant or just in denial. No one from Iraq was involved in 9/11, so why would we attack them? And Bin Laden wasn't in Iraq and our intelligence knew that. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out. But what ticks me off is that Bush sold it and made so many people believe it. He brainwashed them just as Bin Laden brainwashes Al Qaida members.

While I'm definately not a Bush fan...

If oil is a big component of the occupation we can consider looking at it another way...

Controlling Iraq's oil is absolutely cheaper now than it will be in 20 or 30 years when everyone else is also trying to latch onto the last of the world's reserves.

That will be an interesting time indeed. Let's not forget that the world's ENTIRE economy is dependant on oil. There are no current viable replacements, nor will there be for another 10-20 years and maybe longer.

Rather than "pathetic" it may be seen in the future as a brilliant and inexpensive political move by the U.S.

Rather than judge so harshly, impulsively, and emotionally now, go read some history books about nasty moves and decisions made decades ago. Take a look at how some of those those moves and decisions are viewed today.

You are an idiot. Oil is traded with the Middle east. Middle East countries got rich from oil. OPEC sets the oil price. What the hell is wrong with that?

Our economies in the West would die without ME oil - that is a fact. That is why we all need stability in the Middle East, and that includes all the peace loving people in those ME countries who just want to live and raise their kids in a stable society.

Saddam wanted to spend his oil wealth warring with his neighbours. Prior to that Iraq was doing very nicely out of its oil wealth. Then they fought an 8 year war with Iran.

Read the history. America spudded oil in Saudi Arabia, then helped Saudi to become the richest nation in the Middle East before handing over the reigns completely in 1990, when the Arabian American Oil Company became Saudi ARAMCO - completely Saudi owned.

Does that sound like stealing.

You know nothing, so you should not even bother to comment.

(PS - and I am not American)

Clueless about our nation's past too, aren't you?

Do you want me to really tell you what's going on pursuant to Council of Foreign Affairs documentation unreleased?

No. Noone on this site is ready.

How much oil has the USA gotten from Iraq? ZERO. It ain't stealing unless you actually steal something.

Don't forget the invasions and occupations can rack up large sums of money for corporations who are supporting the effort.

The war in iraq was totally unecessary, I completely agree.
Also, about (I think) 68% of all other Americans agree, too.
