The question is how much a NEW piano is worth, good people.

In US Dollars, new pianos (non-electronic) range in price from $3000 to over $250,000.

Pretty big range. It depends on size (console, studio, grand, concert grand), the brand (Chinese and Indonesian are the least expensive, American and European hand-built are the most expensive).

Get the best instrument you can afford, with a sound, touch, and apperance that pleases you. If you want a vertical, you can find good ones for as little as $5000. If you want a grand, goo, dependable insturments can be found for about $12,000.

Digital and used will be less expensive, of course.

depends on the brand and where it is made from..japan made pianos are sometimes better..
upright or grand piano?
buying a new piano depends on the grade the player is at...if the player is a beginner, buying a grand piano or a baby grand is wasted..the difference between grands and uprights are that the pedals have a different purpose...and the length of the pianos are different also.

I would say at least a thousand dollars, but they can get pricey depending on the brand and quality.
