I love Magyk. :) It's a great book.
Anyway, book suggestions. Well, like owlofglass mentioned, Maximum Ride is a really good read. It's fast-paced and interesting.
I'd suggest the Haunting of Alazaibel Cray, Poison, and Storm Theif, all by Chris Wooding. They're all Fantasy/Sci-Fi, and are very good, especially Haunting and Poison.
And then there's Raven's Gate, Evil Star, and one more book (I've forgotten the name) by Anthony Horowitz. Those are in one series, and are fantasy/sci-fi yet again, but they have action, and are real good.
Those are all I can think of for now, but if I remember more, I'll let you know!

You should read the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer. It's about a girl who falls in love with a vampire. I loved all 3 of the books and I can't wait for the fourth one to come out.

Cirque Du Freak Series by Darren Shan
Daughters of the Moon Series by Lynne Ewing (this is a great series, takes place in modern day Los Angeles but with the fantasy twist, about three girls going into high school)
Undead Series by Mary Janice Davidson
Carpe Demon (adventures of a demon hunting soccer mom) by Julie Kenner (this one was good, both my 8th grader and I loved it)
Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts
Any of Meg Cabot's books are great

Some books I like are the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, for science fiction, and the Dragonlance series for fantasy.

Try Francesca Lia Block. She wavers back and forth between fantasy and reality in her books about teens.
Of Course the Inheritance Series by Christopher Paolini is highly recommended: "Eragon" & "Eldest" are out. The next will be out next year I think.

well I've never read the books you're reading (never even heard of some of them), but a really good book that I think you'd probably enjoy is Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris. It's set in WW2 France, and it's told from the perspective of a nine year old and her older self... it's an amazing must read.
