I have World History class. So this teacher assigned a homework of us making a timeline with 6 sentences and we have to order them. So the teacher said to make pictures and color them for each sentence. So the first sentence of my timeline is "Romans Execute Jesus of Nazareth." She said stick firgues are okay. Do you think it is offensive to draw a cross and A stick figure tied up on it? What picture should I draw if my idea is offensive? I don't know exactly about Jesus, but did a Roman use a wepon to execute him? So can I draw a Roman with a wepon. I don't want to draw something bad. :[

If the teacher assigns it to you, It won't be considered offensive since its of educational value. Anything of educational value is always an exception for material being offensive. Just as long you illustrate it in a serious and meaningful manner with thought and emotion. Don't make it look like your trying to joke about Jesus's death. I went through a same awkward situation when I had to illustrate the holocaust in second grade and the teacher said dont worry if its violent as long as its meaningful.

You may draw a cross. This is not offensive to God or any church. If you are Muslim (and even if you aren't), you may not draw pictures of Mohammed without offending every Muslim in the world.

The difference is the Prophet forebade people to make pictures of him because he had already seen pictures of Christ and how early Christians revered them. He didn't want that to happen to his people so he forebade pictures. The problem is the very lack of a picture has, in essence, turned him into a minor diety--the very thing he feared to become.

Perhaps just draw a picture of a cross, if you think showing a crucified man (even a stick figure) might be offensive.
