Neon lives in a nice warm, humid cage, and is fed every day about 6 or more large crickets (depending on size of cricket) and occassionally some lettuce and melon. She is a very active, frisky lizard, never looks at all starved and doesn't seem ill, she just hasn't grown very much since I've had her. I thought females grew to around 2 feet. Is it some sort of sign she is unhealthy if she is only about 15 inches?

Take her too see a vet and make sure there is nothing wrong with her.I had a water dragon for a few years as well and she didn't grow any.one morning i got up and she was lying sleeping on the bottom of the tank when i touched her i knew she wasn't sleeping she was dead!!!! It broke my heart but the worst bit was she was her usual self the night before eating and jumping in and out of her pool no sign of her being ill and now she was dead.

Yes, it generally means something about her husbandry isn't correct. Her diet sounds like it is lacking variety quite a bit. Are you dusting with vitamins/calcium as directed? Is she is a large enclosure (they need up to 6 feet in height)? A too small enclosure will cause stress and illness. What are her heat basking temps? Does she have a clean fresh pool of water to soak/swim every day? Critically important is a UVB bulb within 12 inches of her basking spot....bulb changed every 6 months? Parasite check in stool sample at a reptile vet? Reptiles can live for years in even horrible conditions, but they won't thrive or reach full potential or remain in good health. Check my fave WD sites for details.
