Hi,

first of all agents don't cost you anything up front. That's important for you to know! Never pay an agent up front for any reason! And before you sign with any one agent and if you are not of adult age, take an adult with you who is knowledgeable about the industry.

Secondly, you might find helpful what I did to get two agents and some extra work agencies as well as the attention of some casting directors in a very short period of time. You will find this on my website for new actors: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/how_to_get_an_agent.html

You can also head over to backstage.com for more information on how to find talent agents in your area.

Hope this helps!

Agents don't cost anything, they take a percentage of your earnings after you book a job. The problem here is that you are not ready for an agent. You need training and experience first. Get into classes and start auditioning for roles in local theatre productions. Once you've been in class for a while and after you've built up a decent resume of roles, then you start looking for an agent.

Websites that may help you:

www.actorsaccess.com

When you're ready you can find an agent at www.Sag.org but if you start submitting your pic & res to them before you're ready they will simply ignore you. Do the work! Get into classes and get the experience.

good luck

Do you have a lot of lead acting roles that will interest agents in meeting with you?

Did you major in Theater at a University well-known for producing excellent actors?

Have you perfromed in Regional Theater Productions?

You must have something to offer to agents to want them to take a chance on representing you as a client.

Agents work on commission only, typically 10% of what the actor earns goes to the agent.

Since you do not know that they are not called acting agents and that they do not cost anything, you are not ready for an agent. I help get actors ready for agents. I am a career mentor. I do not charge anything, so if you have your parent's support for your becoming an actor, click on my name and you and your parents read my profile and if you would like my help, send me an email to my aol address.
