When you turn it on all three of the fans start up and then quit, then they start again and quit again repeatedly. The leds on the power supply and the switch blink while this is happening. I dont think anything else gets power because their leds do not turn on at all(such as the ethernet plug or the DVD drive). Could it be my power supply? Or could my motherboard be bad? I dropped the computer a while back and it had the same problem, so I took everything out of the tower cleaned it and put it all back and It has worked until now. Confused and Lost...

I do not get any bios screens, the monitor does not recieve a signal at all. Before this problem happened, the computer would occationally freeze up. It would not respond to anything no mouse movement no keyboard input, just a frozen screen with no cpu activity.

4 options, power supply gone bang, motherboard damage, chip creep, cpu died. I think power supply and motherboard are most likely. Cpu failure usually everything else powers up.
Chip creep would be the same, checking for loose components would sort it.
Pressing the power button on your pc sends a signal to your psu to power up, the power supply should then just get everything going. if thats not happening usually means psu has died, but when you say its like a continuous looping, like resetting it self, fans on and off, could indicate a cpu initialization error, your cpu or motherboard has died.
Unless you have added more hardware or changed hardware you power demands from the psu wont have changed. if you have added/changed components, your psu could be underpowering your rig, so get a higher rated one.....
A gut feeling tells me motherboard, but that doesnt help you really, take it to some one who can check it for you, it could be costly, unless you have a friend that knows his way around a pc, its different matter when you have the pc in front of you.
Sorry, but i hope this helps in some way..........

cheapest thing to do is replace the power supply. They run around $100 us for a very good supply that works with about 99% of the systems even if you have it powered up a bit with video card and alot of Hard drives, Media drives and other items. I would say that your not getting sufficient power down to the main board to boot up. You didnt say if your getting any bio's screens but it does not sound like you are with the drives not lighting up. Also, do like alot of the others said, can of air the dust bunnies out but I DO NOT suggest playing around inside of a power supply, its not worth the risk of electruction to go in and try to clean it out. another way to tell if its the power supply is if those fans are directly supplied off of the power supply and not by means of the motherboard then that my friend is your problem.

best of luck fixing up things, and hope its not too expensive of a repair.

Power supply!!! Or try taking it apart again and blowing out all the slots, etc. to really clean things up. Could be a short on the board somewhere.

oh yeah - also take off the cover of the power supply (if no longer under warranty) and blow out the insides of that. Some huge dust bunnies grow in those things.

If you are very lucky, something is just loose. First, make sure all wiring connections are tight.

Shutdown soon after booting is often overheating. If you see (by direct observation) that your cpu fan is running, shut everything down, unplug it, and make sure your heat sink is clipped on tight.

If that's OK, check your memory.

If that's OK, try booting a bootable CD.

If that doesn't work, you still have CPU/mobo problems (or a broken CD drive).

It that works, but the disk doesn't, then your disk is a paperweight.

If the problem started when you dropped it, the most likely problem is a cracked motherboard. It could be a power supply, but these are generally more robust than that.

It sounds like the motherboard may be fried. If your getting power but the screen is not showing anything, it may be the video card. You may still be able to recover the hard drive though.

Well looking at you problem, you can try different power supplies. Try removing an extra item you have, like ram, try one stick in different slots, use your integrated vga instead of your video card if you have one. If its a bought one like a Dell, give the manufacturer a call.

Sounds to me like you have a damaged power supply.
