I have my veiled chameleon caged in exo terrarium for a week now.
I have asked people around and i got 2 responds that completely opposite to each other.

One guy said that the terrarium is fatal for my chameleon (as it can develop sickness due to poor ventilation) and it would
be better caged in a screen cage (looked ugly BTW).

But the other guy said that exo terrarium is fine and it is perfect for keeping the moisture in (70% is ideal moisture habitat for chameleon). Plus the screen sometimes can hurt my chameleon feet... So which one is correct?!!!

Right now, i put him in my exo terrarium and i often open the glass window once a day (under supervision off course, so he won't escape).

Obviously aesthetic wise i prefer the exo terrarium... but I care about my pet more.. If it can harm him, i would rather buy a screen cage.

Thanks so much guys!

Veiled chameleons are from Yemen, which is a dry, desert country. They don't need as much humidity as other chameleons. You still need to mist them often so they can drink. But a ventilated cage is a much better idea. I built my own with wire mesh, but alot of people use Reptariums. They may not be as attractive as a glass cage, but I've used them too and they work well. Don't buy them in the pet stores. They're way overpriced. Order them online:

No idea what cm's amount to in inches or feet but for the most Chameleons need about 36 x 36 x no less than 24 inches wide - deep... mostly SCREENED cages / habitats due to the mistings / foggings they need or they will become ill & die without very, very good air circulation so anythiing EXO or with too much plastic, glass ( aquarium ) etc is good for chameleons, look up chameleon habitats to see better what I mean about screened & the other needs like warmth, UVA/UVB lighitng... etc which is why Chameleons are not " Beginner reptiles " & one of the hardest to keep , when it's cold they have to be kept in warm rooms or closets big enough for their habitat but still have very, very good air circulation & warmth to prevent illness & death in Winter or cold times !!! Take Care

Screen cage is best as they do need lots of ventilation. BUT, they also need high humidity. Many keepers solve this by having a misting machine on all day, spraying several times a day, using a drip system, etc. Also, you can attach plastic to a couple of the side to help hold in moisture. They need large enclosures....4hx2wx2l min. for an adult.
