It's hard to explain how to stop doing them over a pc. I take it whoever the person is an addict. Rehab/counseling is probably the only way or it will only get worse.

First and foremost, your friend must acknowledge that using drugs is in fact a problem. Without acknowledging that a problem exists, there will never be a solution. Depending on the stage of drug use--experimental, social, habitual, dependent--your friend may not see a problem at all. This is where you must define the problem(s) for your friend.

Take action! Your friend must DECIDE to stop using drugs. Only he/she can do that. People are motivated by either pleasure or pain. Determining which is the motivator for your friend will help narrow the focus of effort.

Get help. Heavy drug use requires professional help to stop initially, and for the long term. You can help by: taking them to a clinic or a professional; help them change their environment to get rid of the temptation.

Be a positive force in your friend's life. Let your friend know (by word AND deed) that you are there for support. Help your friend remained focused on the positive goals that don't include drugs. Reinforce your friend's good behaviors without drugs. Don't abandon your friend when they slip up.

You just have to be there to support them, give them advise but dont belittle them. Some people stop helping their friends and family when they become addicted to drugs...I think thats the worse thing to do when you're trying to help them. You should keep them at a distance (when they are high, or if they steal things) and dont support them, as in giving them $$ for more drugs. But you should be their shoulder to cry on....because trust me they will need someone to talk to because drugs brings will bring many problems into their lives. Encourage them to get help, but dont force it because they will end up turning to someone else if they feel you are against them.

They have to want to first. The two drugs you described are the worst to try to kick by yourself, they really do need to go to rehab to kick the habit. sorry but that is the only way.

and grand wizard if you really want to know there are more white heroin and cocaine addicts in the us and they are also the number one dealers. you are a ignorant butt hole.
