Yes, it fun.
Details? Umm, you get to build houses, create sims and pets, control sims... etc. It's great.
My ranking of the expansion packs:
1. Bon Voyage -- Bringing sims to vacation! ^^
2. Seasons -- Stunning + Realistic graphics.
3. Pets -- Adds pets into your game.
4. Nightlife -- Adds Downtown
5. University -- Adds Uni. Creates "Young Adult" category.
6. Open for Business -- Lets your sims own their own business!

The sims is AWESOME! I would suggest getting the Complete Collection for a good experience. Sims 2 is also very good. The price for that is about 30 - 40 dollars. If your going to get the expansion pack may I suggest Livin Large! it will give you much more furniture, wallpaper, and paint choices.

ooooooh yeah it's fun!! sims 2 is waaay better than sims 1. so if you're gonna get it, don't waste your money on the first version. you basically create people, then create their homes, then run their lives. but that's just the basic outline of it...there are so many dimensions...like aspirations, wants, life stages, custom content, the list goes on. it's like the living the life you want through imaginary people you've created, or living the life you would never want to live! it's all customizable, and can keep you busy for hours upon hours.
a good expansion pack is pets, oh and seasons. university looks like a lot of fun; it adds a new life stage.

Sims 2 for computer is the best over all sims game - no questions about it. My favorite is 'Open for Business' since your sim(s) could make their own money from home or from a business lot in which they could buy (depending onto if they have the right amount of money - use motherlode a few times and they will earn 50,000 simoleons and they can buy their own lot to sell items).

the sims2 is the best. u make your person build their house and run their life. i like the sims2 better bc you can make your sims grow up. the best 2 expantion packs are University and Night life hope u have fun :)

I hate the game with a passion it but if you want to be bored to tears and control 3D people for a month than wish you never wasted your money on it than this is the game for you.
