First of all, maybe its helpful to know that you can't name emotions. We have names for them, but all the emotion names in the world cannot describe the seemingly infinite amount of emotions we have. That's why we have art and music, to express things that words can't.

In short, you can easily have feelings that can best be explained in words with two conflicting emotions- emotions are complex. Each feeling is different, but with almost every feeling, there are mixtures of other things in there as well. There is sadness still on a summers day, there is melocoly in a kiss. Maybe it's better to ask if we ever experience a pure emotion at one time.

No, that is not possible. Only in Hollywood movies a guy kills 15 people in cold blood and then tenderly kisses his girlfriend. Not possible to be a cruel and a sensitive person simultaneously. In real life, a cruel guy would probably punch his girlfriend.

Neither. It means that you are choosing two conflicting thoughts. If you Love X and Hate X, you are merely thinking two things that inspire these two states.
