Bush expected the Gen. to use cherry-picked statistics that anyone paying attention in the press could and has illustrated didn't present a fair and accurately complete picture of things going on in Iraq.

I mean seriously, these two men carry the entire burden of a war strategy that has been written and rewritten by what 3 Generals before his attempt and there has been much speculation that it is the White House policies that write strategy not the strategy that determines W.H. policy.

I think President Bush has showed much cowardice by passing the buck to the General and the Ambassador here.
He's asking them to justify the unjustifiable and put all of the weight on their shoulders to try and muster the American people!

Yes, but they are "willing to suspend disbelief" so they actually WANT to be betrayed by Bush.

nope they were picked because they would say what they said. Was anyone surprised by their remarks? No one thought the guy would come out and say whats really going on over there. The truth is easy to discern. Look at the body count websites they all confirm more are dying this summer than ever. And the summer months are usually the least lethal. Thats why the surge was intentionally carried out at that time of year. Nothing in there about patriotism or lying. You can see any event in a multitude of ways.

We old vets, know what it is like be in combat, and witness the brother at your side, taking a hit !!!!
I found NOTHING in the Generals remarks to be beyond what I would / do expect !!!! The Ambassadors delivery sounded to me, a bit like a POLITICIANS TYPICAL VERBIAGE, ALTHOUGH TRUTHFUL, A BIT HEAVY ON THE ELITISTS SIDE !!!
I have noticed that most of the "detractors" of the troupes efforts and SACRIFICES, are the very politicians, and their followers- sycophants- that have never been in a real combat situation, or they have had their brains subjected to " cosmic radiation", while they were / have been "up high" !!!
There are some politicians who would rather tear down rather than help continue to build !!!! You will find this attitude in all walks of life / professions.
Sad this time, in American history.

No, I feel they were Betrayed by that organization that took out a full page ad and called General Patraeus "General Betrayed Us". Patraeus took every jab, insult, and deragatory remark the dems, who are praying for failure, could throw at him and countered with the best information he had. In that mudslinging competition the Dems in Congress held this week, Patraeus is the only one who walked out clean as a whistle with his head held high.

That's your problem: you were thinking.

Did you listen to any of the report General Petraeus gave? Did you listen to any of the snotty remarks made by Clinton?

By your mindless, uninformed question it is safe to say that you did not.
