July 20, 1969. There were five other successful manned missions to the moon after Apollo 11 - Apollo 12, Apollo 14, Apollo 15, Apollo 16, and Apollo17. Apollo 13 had an explosion on its way to the moon, and had to limp back home using the lunar module as a lifeboat of sorts.
