My sons are 18 and 23. I have met all their friends [ except network friends ], and expect to do so as long as they live in my house. I also expect to know where they are, and who with. My husband and I tell them where we are going - we started that when we still used sitters, so we could set an example for them.
Invite all his friends over for pizza, and tell your son they only need stay an hour or so.Then make sure he keeps you posted on his cell phone, and you do the same for him.

I think you have every right to know who your son hangs out with. Your his mother, you have to know who, what, where, when, and why even if he doesn't like it. If you don't know who is your son's friend's is you have to be aware of who he is hanging out with. You don't want him to hang out with the wrong group of people. You want whats best for him. If I was you I'll ask your son a couple of question about his friend. Like you could ask him how did you guys meet? You can tell your son to invite his friend over for dinner. That way you could meet him and ask questions yourself, but don't ask to much that you will make him feel uncomfortable. You want him to feel welcome. I'm 21 years old and I've always introduce my friends to my parents. Again you have the right to know who your son is hanging out with. Plus it shows that you care and that you want whats best for him.

Yes you should know your son's friends. He is only 16 and peer pressure is strong at that age. You should do so for the best interest of your son.

I would want to know who his friends were. Especially if this is a change in behavior for him. Personally, I like my house being the place where they hang out, I know what they are doing that way.....most of the time.

You may want to meet them I'm 18 and my parents didn't meet any of my friends that's because I didn't want them to because of what they where into now I wish my parents would have asked to meet my friends so you should really meet them mostly because of drugs and sex I'm not saying anything about your son just keep an eye on him he will thank you latter

Meet one or two of his new friends and always know where he is and what he is doing. If he is a little secretive don't obsess and think he is doing wrong things. It is just a teenager wanting some space.

YES! that's an age when it's really easy to fall into peer pressure. You should meet his friends, and their parents.

He is 16! He can know if he is hanging out with good or bad friends! No worry!
Just ask him who he hangs out with and see if he should hang out with them by the way he demonstrate his friends!

YES!
know your kid's friends!
ask their names.
ask what they look like.
ask what they are into.
ask.ask.ask!
your child will probably be pissed off, but too bad! you have a right to know and if your child was ever in trouble you could talk to his friend because you'll know the name and what he/she looks like!
good luck!
