I'm thirteen years old. And I don't dress as nicely as most of the girls at school. I wear boot-cut jeans (I like them, I don't think those are a problem), but I don't know what to wear for a shirt! Today I wore a big , chocolate colored t-shirt that said 'Colorado' on it. I'm just really bad at knowing what to wear for shirts. Do you think you could give me examples of types of shirts that are popular with kids my age, but don't 'show too much'? Thanks!

Oh, also, I don't want to go to school suddenly wearing flowery really tight shirts. I won't wear anything that is too tight looking.

Why don't you try wearing something with a catchy slogan like. Or with fun images but it has to be something you like.

Boot-cut jeans go good with any kind of v neck and if you don't want to show skin wear a tank top underneath(just have them match). Also you don't always need words try just solid shirts. You could also wear the shirts that are tight on top and they go sort of like a dress at the bottom I have one in solid green and I always get compliments and its great because it isn't tight on your stomache.

Well, American Eagle has a lot of cute shirts, and the tightness depends on what size you wear your shirts in. Polos are in plus they don't show to much, and if you want to dress them up you can put a cami underneath. Layering tees is also cute sometimes. But, even the simplest shirts and jeans can be dressed up with some accesories (jewlry, belts, ect.).

Try:
1] fitted [ women's ] Tshirts, in different necklines, and assorted pastels and brights [ flatter face more ]. Eventually, should have at least 7 short sleeve and 7 long sleeve Ts.
2] a few new blouses - wrap, belted, pleated, maybe peasant
3] tops - a few 'novelty' tops, such as a fitted tunic, and not too full babydoll, and hoodies
Also; look around at other girls before you buy shoes - your feet are still growing, but eventually they will stop and you can collect many different colors and styles.
Right now you should have at least one pair of:
ballet shoes
slip ons
sneakers
boots

My 14 yr old daughter likes to layer her v neck shirts w/ lace camisoles, or a cute half jacket!
There are nice stores to go to that won't cost alot. Old Navy, Target, JcPenney...you get the idea.
When you go shopping, take a friend with you. Sometimes when you have someone with you, its like having someone to say "That looks really nice on you!" to help persuade yourself...especially when your not sure about it.

I'm 13 too. Boot cut jeans are fine but you're right you should pair them with a nice top. I like Abercrombie, Hollister, and AE but you need to find your own style and just go with that.

Welcome to the party, I'm thirteen myself and we normally really want to look fashionable. But fashion depends on the person, you wear what makes you you, when you wear something and someone looks at you and say "thats you all right" that means your as in as you can be. Don't try copying or asking others for ideas. Wear what you like and feel comfortable in, don't try getting in by asking others ideas. It won't be you at all.

go to old navy they have cute stuff that's at a good price with all kinds of styles or American eagle or target just find things u like that complement u not what everyone else likes
