oh well, I shrug it off, and maybe feel a little embarrassed for trying, but get on with other cares in life. You know, I've learned courage since I've become good at dealing with it well, and respect for other people's decisions even if I think they should have chosen otherwise. I've become more sociable and enterprising too.
I've learned from experience, that Fear-of-Rejection causes MORE heartache and loss (missed opportunities and regret for not trying) than rejection itself. I've also learned there are many surprises, not always, but many times, the ones I thought would never accept, gladly accept, and the ones I thought would easily accept, don't accept. Handle it like an objective experiment: "Lets see what happens if I try, if I ask, if I suggest... etc" Its fun way to try winning, sometimes, even surprisingly at times you will !

Recognize that they dont have to like you or want to hang around you. Make sure that it is something not correctable first like bad personal hygiene or some unique offense you are not aware of. Also dont view it as rejection. They probably just dont know you well. They may not have time for a new friend. They may be involved with some one else and that is their right. It helps to talk to others about it. I talk about people who reject me to my friends and just laugh about it. It makes for good conversation. "So and so hates me etc."" I try to talk to this person everyday and they take unique routes around the office to avoid me etc". Its funny.
