...very granduoso, yet underappreciated horror film entry, in director Dario Argento's 'Three Mothers' trilogy (the second being the 1980 horror shocker, "Inferno"); funny thing, that every year, the top ten horror films are listed, and despite the repeated fact that general audiences claim to have never heard of the film, it still always manages to make the top-ten list...

...personally, I have found a certain attraction to the film, due to the compelling and overwhelmingly uncomfortable feel about the film; it's one of those horror films that really gets you shaking like a leaf, and where the brain tells you to get up and leave right away, but the body just ain't gonna move, no matter what...

...horrific and nerve-rattling moments are virtually bathed in almost glowing, deep reds and blues, and the violence, although quite brutal, viceral and bloody, is simultaneously artistic and beautiful...almost like watching a gruesome ballet...ironically enough, part of the subject matter of the film...

...the uncomfortable feel of the film is most definitely supplemented by the outrageously kinetic and pulse-pounding soundtrack, brilliantly performed by composer Claudio Simonetti, and the Euro-Rock group known as Goblin...of which Dario Argento himself, has jammed with, from time to time...

...I find myself absolutely repulsed, and at the same time, compellingly interested in the fact that the folks over at Dimension Pictures are actually interested in remaking this veritably untouchable classic piece of horror; at this point, I'd be most curious as to who is taking up the daring and inconceivable challenge of directing this untouchable film, as well as where the writers want to take the subject matter, as compared to the ever-superior original...

...however, I AM definitely most interested in the fact that the release of Dario Argento's third film in his 'Three Mothers' trilogy, called "Mother of Tears", is about to see release; check out the most intriguingly striking trailer here...
