The sad thing is, some people ARE worrying about chips and whose cd's will sell more.
The Kanye & 50 thing reminds me of grade school when we'd see who could run faster or who had better shoes. Nothing would change after these stupid contests, but it gave our immature minds something to do.
The fact is that alot of these celeb's aren't doing anything newsworthy yet we still have hundreds of reporters & papparatzi who need to look busy & report on something - no matter how mundane or irrelavent.

50 and Kanye have access to the media. Basically this is one big album promotion conjured by Kanye and 50 to boost their lackluster album sales. I would find it amusing if Kenny Chensey outsold them both.
Personally I think celebrity news is really not news but the daily intrusion on the personal and private lives of normal people who have normal problems, no big deal. Yeah J-Lo is pregnant but so is other people. Yeah Lindsey Lohan snorts coke and so does my Uncle Frank.
Can you imagine your daily life being blogged and commented on by weirdos like Perez Hilton.
However in this situation 50 and Kanye competition is just some lame album promotion festivus to conjure up sales in a commercial rap market that has seen better days.
