Re: why antihistamine??

I consulted a pharmacist since there is a lot of swelling and itching involved. He suggested it. I only took one 4 mg pill but I won't take any additional doses.

I haven't actually been through this, but, I'd say, as long as you're not allergic to them, and you've had no bleeding (vaginal), then you should be cool.

Consult your doc though, just in case. Just a quick call to her office to be sure.

Good luck!!!! And, congrats!

I wasn't stung by a wasp but was stung by a big bee when i was about 16 wks pregnant with my second son and the bee stung me right were the placenta was suppose to be laying. It swelled and i put stuff on it to help. I didn't have any other reactions from it. The Dr did mention though that studies have shown that early exposure like that to bees can increase the risks of an allergy for the baby. I just keep my son away from bees and hope he doesn't get stung. Your baby will be fine though the poision as far as I know doesn't cause any harm to the baby. My son was fine.

You should be OK unless you are currently experiencing an allergic reaction. I am just wondering why you took an antihistamine. Wasp stings usually require no medical treatment unless you are allergic.

I was stung by a hornet or wasp (Was in a pool so not really sure which it was) and I had no ill side effects. I was about 4 months pregnant at the time.
