It depends on what you want. Do you want quiet rural life? Do you want forests? Do you want to live on Puget Sound? A lot of people like eastern Washington because of the wide open spaces and low pressure lifestyle, but a lot like the sophistication of Seattle. Some people love living on the coast. Its up to you, what do you want? Seattle would be my choice, but thats just me.

Wenatchee Valley.
We were recently named the "Safest City In Washington State".
The Cost of Living here isPhenomenal! The People are Friendly. You are still only a little over 2 hours from Seattle or Spokane. My husband commutes 9 days a month from here to Seattle (He's a Fireman)
Besides, Wenatchee is in The Center of God's Country.

Seattle. Don't bother with Tacoma, or anything else outside of Seattle/the Eastside. It is the closest to the metro city area, and everything is accessible from these areas.

Go for Seattle if you like cold and wet; go for Spokane if you like HOT and dry or COLD and dry, depending on the season. The coastal towns are nice, but there aren't as many employment opportunities there.

Spokane - It's one of the top five cities in the U.S, to NOT be affected by natural disasters. It's decent sized, not sure about crime.
I live in Auburn.
