Sure you could, but why not your school plays and classes.?

Just call the community theatre and find out when their next tryouts are and show up, if there is no role for your, volunteer for crew work.

Just sign up.

My old community theater all you had to do was call them and say you were interested in volunteering and you were on the mailing list.

As for classes, check at school. Also try a local community college also the theater may offer classes.

For community theater you must audition. Find out the name of the community theater in your area. Acting classes are easy to find. Look into your community college in your area for available classes or for privately run classes. Be careful of charlatans who may tell you that they will get you an agent and photographer for a large sum of money. Only take classes at a place that doesn't try to sell you something and they teach you how to do "monologues"(scenes you perform alone) and/or ensemble work (scenes you do with other cast members and also partner work. Good luck.
