Sorry 8 bags for the winter is not even close. We have to talk about tons here. Dependant upon not only the temp but the insulation and windows, look at 4-6 tons for the winter season it is essentially the same as coal just a little cleaner. Use that plastic to shrink wrap your windows which are the biggest loss of heat in your home. Search for drafts and seal them will also help.

Why....Yes...!
I DO!
What a coincidence you should ask.
For a 2,000 SqFt house, one would need approx. 8.2 bags of pellets.
This is due to the fact that for the average 1000 SqFt house, one would need approx. 4.1 bags of pellets.
All things being equal, one may double the amount needed for a 1000 SqFt home and arrive at the amt needed for a 2000 SqFt home.
You will probably get more run-time out of 8.2 bags of pellets per 2000 SqFt since the heat from the 4.1 bags of pellets actually spreads quite nicely and due to some mathematical theorum I cant recall, it shouldnt take exactly twice the amt of fuel to heat exactly twice the amt of space.
The heating ability --per pellet-- is utilized more efficiently when burned in large quantities...sure hope your pellet stove is large-capacity!
Hope this helps!
