Cloud nine would be a metaphor. And happy as a pig in a new mud hole, would be a simile.

By good, do you mean unusual (and not stupid)? Happy as a clam [at high tide] and on cloud nine are pretty trite ones. How about: happy as a two-year-old in a new sandbox; just standing there admiring the rainbow; rendered speechless with happiness; feeling like I was floating down a lazy river in the sun? Any of those give you ideas?

I'm not sure if this is a metaphor (Cos i'm stupid) but how about "My face seem to swollen like a great watermelon ready to split open with sheer happiness."

Happy as a clam.

Happy as a pig in sh1t.

The pig is clear enough, if you've ever seen a pig in a wallow. I've never detected any actual emotion in clams, though. They don't even seem to get angry readily.
