Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause
( but I have yet to see the movie b/c I heard it sucked and ruined the book...)

So, is this true? Was it really on the news?

WOW
Huckleberry Finn banned...thats really freaking stupid. I never knew that. I knew they've banned Harry Potter and the wizard of oz and other 'sinfull' items like that ( pause here to laugh at those books being sinfull)

I haven't read the book but my daughter has and she really likes it as well. I think it's wrong that they are banning the book. As a previous post said, some schools even ban "Huckleberry Finn" just to name one. Definitely protest. Get your friends to do the same and get your parents involved if you can. Whatever you do, be peaceful about it. Make good arguments for keeping it. The best idea might be to get a petition going around the school. If all the kids sign it, maybe they'll think twice.

Book banning is never cool and shouldn't be allowed to pass. If I were you, I'd ask the librarian what she thought about it. Most librarians are against book bans so maybe she can help you, as well.

Also, read Fahrenheit 451. That's your homework. :-)

Honey, they've banned Huckleberry Finn in some areas of this country. You could protest though. Go to the school board or PTA meetings and have your voice heard.

The German Fascists burnt any book that did not agree or support their theories of racial superiority.

ANY censorship is a way of control..so however bad certain people, religions, ethnic groups, etc feel about a particular book they have the choice NOT to read it..they do NOT have the right to prevent others reading it.

they can ban the sight of blood, which makes me sick, but NEVER NEVER ban chocolate, which is my favorite. I could be said to be a "chocaholic".
