Yep, thats his new name and it will define his whole career no matter how many super bowl rings he's got. Who knows if he got them legitimately?

Now, I think he should be suspended at least 8 games, given a $150,000 fine, the team should be fined 1.2 million, forfeit the game to the Jets, and lose their first round draft pick next year.

The players are being held to a high standard of conduct now, and the coaches should be held to even higher standards IMO. What do you think?

Um, Take off: Duh! where have you been? Goodell is holding the players to higher standards of conduct and punishing them more severely? Do you even really follow football?

Shark: I'm not a Jets fan. If you look at my profile, you will see I'm a Bengals fan.

Lets see his crew did this at his request. The so called leader of one of the greatest teams in the last few years. I say whatever he gets is just not enough. But I am a Redskins fan so does it really matter. Rules are rules and they will get broken. He said he was sorry. Let he whon is without sin cast the first football....lol

Thats real low for the Pats. I dont really know why they did that. I mean, they were winning, against the Jets, it was a season opener, not the last game of the season. Theres really not a lot at stake, and they didnt need to cheat to win.
Come to think of it, maybe they've been doing it the whole time and they just got caught there. Who knows how many games they've won because of that?
Maybe the reason why theyre so good is because they;re a bunch of cheaters.
I think they should definitely forfeit to the Jets, and get like a 10 Million dollar fine that counts towards the salary cap, so they wont be able to bring back Brady and Co and they might actually work to win games.

This act by the Patriots should not go unnoticed and Goodell needs to be strong and put out a strong punishment that will make teams never want to cheat. I believe that a 2 game suspension should take place and the Patriots should lose their 2nd and 3rd round picks. This is cheating in a big way and could have been the difference in a sack or an interception and maybe even a touchdown. I think that Goodell will only take away draft picks, but that is what I believe the punishment should be.

I agree with most of what you say, other than forfeiting the game. Belichick should have to wear Tom Landry's old suits(and hat) to games, and Colts fans should be allowed to burn his sweat top. Although the Jets' players may deserve better(especially Chad Pennington), the fans and the Jets organization do not. The fans at the Meadowlands deserve a lot of grief for cheering Pennington's injury; perhaps some of them can join Belichick in being suspended.

Suspending Belichick will have no bearing on the outcome of a game, since he doesn't play himself, therefore it wouldn't be a punishment, the best thing to do is to forfit the game he was caught cheating against the Jets, since it had a bearing on the game,if he is caught a second time, the Patriots should be forced to give up their first, second and third draft choice,if caught a third time, they should be barred from the playoffs

They're just gonna get fined. A forfeit will never happen, and he won't get suspended either that would be retarded. And the talk of taking draft picks is just talk. It's not like the Patriots are the only team who does it, it's part of the game, which is unfortunate but true. And, what you said about this defining his career is also not true at all. There's no proof that they did this every game, and he is still an absolute beast, as are the players.

What is the difference if any coach or team were to pull a player off of another opposing teams practice squad and use them to gain information for upcoming games?? Just a thought. IMO your penalty to the patriots makes it sound like your a true Jets fan who is pissed that your team lost.

I think anyone of the punishments you mentioned would singlely be enough, but you want to give him all? I would say forfeiture would be most appropriate, but I don't see that happening. A massive team fine or a short suspension for the coach seems more realistic.

I'd say make him eat the footage found on the tape and have it aired live. Then put the Patriot Lombardi trophies in front of him while still airing live and make him say "I only won these because I cheated."

Mr. Goodell should also have him tattoo "Cheater" on his forehead.

the pats got caught because another cheating head coach (mangini)ratted them out.how did mangini know they were video taping his sideline?its because he was in on it when he was with tha pats and that makes him not only a cheater but the biggest hypocrit in the nfl because he got the jets job because of the success he had with the pats and their"cheating ways".

also why would anyone have to cheat to beat the jets when the jets cant beat the michigan wolverines!
