Some pest is eating/chewing on my otherwise gorgeous bouganvillea plant. I never find any evidence that tells me what is devouring my plant. I live in MS. Any ideas?

Hi, I would give it a good spraying of Soap and Water. Be sure to use Soap and not Detergent. Do this in the A.M. Then I would wait a couple of days, and hit it with a mix of 1/4 Mouthwash to 3/4 water. That should take care of any caterpillars,or inch worms that are devouring your plant. Byee

If just the leaves and smallest twigs are being eaten you probably have an ant problem. I live a bit south of you and here leaf cutter ants love bougainvillea. They usually come at night is why you don't see them. Use insecticide or tangle foot on your plants or check on them at night with a flashlight to identify and follow the critters to their nest. Usually a mound or hole in the ground. It usually takes more than one treatment of poison down the hole to be effective.

I really dont think deer would eat it because of the thorns. Spectricide will kill just about any insect...

after the soap and water, I would spray it with McNasty in case it is deer eating it at night.
