A positive stays there, I have tests from 1998 with my daughter and they are yucky looking but they still say positive!
I have heard false positives and evaps may disappear.

I have a test from 1998 and a test from 2002. Both still have VERY positive lines on them. They are both no longer the bright pink color that they were originally, they're more a dark purple color, but otherwise they look almost exactly the same.

It probably depends on the brand of test, the air/light/heat/ exposure, and the amount of dye used.

This website addresses a couple of things about lines either disappearing or suddenly appearing. Check it out.

Hope this helps- Best of luck to you!! =)

If you got a positive within the allotted time frame (usually 10mins) then it's positive, no matter what. A positive may or may not fade away eventually, it depends on the brand. The important thing is that you get a positive within the allotted time frame for the test. I still have my positive test from a year ago and it still says positive :)

Congrats!

Check out http://www.peeonastick.com for information on pregnancy tests. You'll see on that website that if a test comes up positive in the alloted time, it should stay up to 48 hours....so seeing it 24 hours later is a GOOD thing.

Congrats mommy-to-be!!!!! I hope I'm next!!

It usually stays, but it can fade a bit. Evaps will usually lose most of their color after 24 hours, and appear more like a dent than a pigmented line.

If you have a line, you are pregnant. There is NO margin of error. Congrats! I have one that I have kept as a keepsake, some 15 years ago, and the line is still there.

Have fun!!

It stays there. It will not go away. My fiancee kept the test for a week after i took it just to make sure it was telling the truth. It took us 3.5 years to conceive this baby, so he is extatic cause it is his first.
