How can I find the individual who is using my wireless router?
Somebody is using my Wireless Router resources. I live in an apartment. What can I do? I know I am going to secure my router. But how can I find that person? Can my provider trace that person? I was told that someone with no provider but with a wireless card can map the network and use an unsecured network. But then if that person has no provider how can I find him? My provider is telling me it is impossible.

You won't be able to find him via your router. It would have assigned an IP address to his wireless adapter and his computer will show up on your network, but probably just under some innocuous name - like "cheap neighbor".
Best thing is to just enable the security features of your router as planned, and maybe even turn it off when you don't need it.

It's not impossible, just expensive. With the right (expensive) equipment and 2 friends, you could triangulate on the signal and locate the person. Easier to just secure your wireless and move on.

i would reverse trace their asses and ask the company to reverse signal it to the company and they will try to tell u but u will probably have to buy a tracker program and upgrade a security system for it. But it would cost u about $40 or mre at the most

Hi. You could use his MAC address to identify the network card, but you pretty much need to know in advance who it is. There are some (slightly illegal) ways to sniff packets, but I would just secure your network. WPA if you can.
