The last Seasons didn't help for all sorts of bugs. Yet they're inoffensive. Winter didn't deep freeze, I said we were to have the same kind of Summer, we did, Not that hot altogether! We use to have 3 seasons, now it's 1 and1/2!
Spiders are according to the different species there are. They have different colors too.

It's probably just the species of spider that you found. Quite a few spiders get rather large, but fortunately for us they are also harmless. Assuming that you live in the U.S. there are only 2 spiders to worry about, but the good thing is that they are shy and really good at hiding. You'd pretty much have to be looking for them to find them. Anyhow, you have probably just come across a garden spider that somehow managed to find its way inside. Just use a glass and stiff paper to send it back into the garden where it can do it's job.

We are having mild damp weather, and they are entering our houses , PLUS there was virtually no frost last season to kill them.
On the plus side they have to eat flies , fleas. mossies etc , so that is at least an advantage.
