what is the best battery? i want one that lasts 3+ hours that is cheap.

You'd want a 9-cell internal battery and/or an external battery. Whether it lasts 3hrs+ or not would be dependent on the power draw of the laptop.
note: by getting a 3rd party battery, quality (and safety) will likely be lower. since li-ion batteries have a tendency to explode under certain circumstances, you might want to invest in a newly made dell battery (for the most part, 3rd party devices should work ok though)

Hi. With Dell "best" and "cheap" are not friends. Found some on eBay but they will only hold 48% charge. I'm still happy with them because 48% is more than I need. But you should get the best if you want 3+ hours. My opinion.
