Ok, I just want to know that I am not the only one who thinks calling Gen. Petraeus "Gen. Betray-us" is the most insulting and completely ridiculous thing that has ever been said by Americans. It is total disrespect to our own military, and to a man who has given his entire life to keeping the US free and secure. What does this say about Americans? Our own military is not only not supported in their efforts, but now they are being called names and being insulted. It is disgusting, and if you think the Iraq War makes America look bad to the rest of the world, then think how much worse this makes us look, reverting to name-calling and insults to our own armed forces.

Does anyone else feel the way I do about this?

It makes you wonder if there is a limit as to how low the Libs are willing to go to regain power. And to think this has happened only 2 generations removed from the "Greatest Generation." Frighteningly sad.

If this is throughout, how come over six hundred US troops have been killed and over 4000 wounded via fact the surge is in many situations considered to have ended,to assert no longer something of 1000's of Iraqis killed and somewhat some greater wounded? the reason the surge worked is by using the fact it restored troop numbers to what they could have been interior the 1st place, purely some imbeciles interior the Bush administration theory the full factor could be performed at a budget, and did insane issues like disbanding the Iraqi military whilst issues have been nonetheless particularly quiet. Do Republicans think of the Bush administration improve into criminally incompetent, via fact i'm able to assure them anybody else does.

The way I look at it, you can't really take much stock in the words of people who have never served anything beyond their own selfish needs.

You gotta realize, most of the "adults" out there today are the fruit of the hippie generation... you know, the ones that spat on soldiers when they came home from Vietnam, called them baby-killers, and whatnot.

Then they got pregnant and popped out children, and the ones who didn't die from chemical dependancy turned out to have so much mush in their brainpans that they have no idea what selflessness and service is... not to mention their parents would never be able to impart this knowlege to them, not having an inkling themselves.

Well, if you watched the hearing as I did, then you know that it was the Republicans who were so hard on him and asked the hard questions. When Republican Senator John Warner asked him if our being in Iraq made America safer, he could not answer yes. Even though he is a Bush "yes man", he did not deserve the General Betray-us headline. That was disrespectful, but you gotta' blame this one mostly on the Republicans. They really pushed him hard in the hearing. The Democrats were easy on him in comparison.

I agree wholeheartedly. Whether you agree with the war or not, I think stooping to this school-yard namecalling is ridiculous and insulting to ALL of our troops. Then again, look who's doing the name-calling, I guess its too much to expect maturity from THAT camp.

I am a Brit and I totally agree with you in every respect. The first thing that citizens of any country is to support their own troops who are putting their lives at risk for all of us
