yeah i think i said it in another answer and im sure i'll get thumbs down for it!
He made a great decision on Barry, you didnt here many fans or journalists crying for him to get the place, but im sure you'll get a few who said thats what they were saying all along. Carrick was the obvious choice, he plays midfield for man u but he went with barry and didnt it pay off!!!
Also his decision to put Heskey in the team was met with dismay but he's been on good form and even though Owen gets the headlines and goals, Heskey contributed to that greatly.
Sadly we always blame the manager first, even though we were all crying for and a good English manager who shows passion which is what mcclaren does and he was the last english manager to win a trophy (2004 carling cup) and has got great experience as assistant to Ferguson, so its about time we used our brains and stop blaming the manager any time something goes wrong, he aint the best in the world but he definitely aint the worst either!
Even if we had Fergie, Mourinho or Wenger as manager we'd still be complaining

Yes.Well done Steve McClaren. You got our boys playing like they ought to be playing for the last two games.
I have never been against McClaren, but I was, and am still not convinced that he can get us to a final, but I'm not going to go and ***** him just for the sake of it a` la the written press.
It wouldn't be too far from the truth to say that the only reason why Heskey, Wright-Phillips, Richards, and Barry got to play was by default and not because he had the courage to drop the players that they replaced.
You can only beat what is put in front of you so I am happy.
Congratulations to Scotland.(again.)

Wait until you have all the points required before you start handing out praise. I will say that Mclaren picked a decent side but aside from giving Owen his favorite partner, where were there other people he could have picked? However I fear the Gerrard/Lampard partnership will be returned to soon and be the downfall of England, or a quarter final finish anyway.

Initially I really didnt like him, u knw for his controversial decision making and his tantrums with becks, etc...
But he's definately trying hard to prove his worth...
Should at least give him a chance...
The recent Euro games though, is a team effort shown in unity and all the praises should go to the players for their hardwork... Man, Heskey was really a suprise..
Scots surely rocked!!

Ayeee. He had a bad run to start of with the lack of support from fans, and general things that happened, hes redeemed himself, I hope that he can carry this on and actually do something good with the England squad unlike most of the managers before him.
Well done Scotland too :)

The team seemed to be playing well but had the opposition been awarded their goal in the 1st half it might have been a different story ...I find the england mgr to be a bit of a smarm if you know what I mean ...!
Good to see Owen back on form, makes our job a little more tricky, when we go up north tho ...
