seriously? I've been programming software on Windows for almost 20 years... and recently upon buying an iMac to handle digital photography, I find that I'll NEVER buy a Windows PC again.

Really interesting question, here are some of the points : 1. Around the world there are more Windows user than Mac 2. 1 Main reason behind this is that Microsoft Computer are of less Price compared to iMac 3. Also if you want to upgrade your HDD you would need to buy only of Apple's HDD as it wouldn't accept others HDD whereas you can upgrade on your PC running Windows buy installing other Company's HDD (like Hitachi, etc. ) 4. Windows has more software and Hardware compatible than that of iMac or Mac to say. 5. ALSO Mac's hardware like it's keyboard and mouse (wireless) can be used on PC with Windows but normal wireless keyboard and mouse cannot be used with Mac 6.Also after warranty period is dead the servicing process will cost you a much (both mac and airbook) 7. Also during an online poll conducted by a tech giant's site it was found that more people liked Windows rather than MAC OS X. 8. Because of it's unique feature and now with new START and live tiles on Windows 8, it had already overtaken MAC OS X. 9. Only Apple itself make these but Windows PC's are made by more than 25 Tech Giant including Microsoft itself manufactures PCs so there is always enhancement and you will find something new among the products this Giants manufactures.

You may want to do a little more research other than just liking one thing better than another. It's a lot like a car, some folks like Ford others prefer Toyota.
I personally owned 4 different Windows based PCs from Gateway, Sony, HP, and Dell. I wouldn't ever own any of the first 3 mentioned, they were all junk and substandard in performance and service. Dell is an exception because they use top of the line products inside and don't use reconditioned components that were junk to begin with, like Gateway, and others.
All windows based computers still suffer from Viruses, Trojans, and all manners of Mal-ware.
Mac's don't.
Yes Mac's have primarily been used for design, and Graphics. Did you ever wonder why? They chose to go a different direction than Windows.
Where do you suppose the idea of the windows operating system was copied from.(Apple)
If windows based operating systems were of the quality of there Professional Software, there would be far less problems. You see, Large Major Corporations simply would not tolerate this. They would go back to using a paper and pencil. Has it ever struck you as odd that they never seem to suffer from the same anomalies and problems that we the public suffer from.
We as Microsoft Windows users have been duped in my opinion. We should be able to buy a product that can not be Hacked, or manipulated, just for grins.
Again Mac doesn't suffer from this same foolishness.
The sole purpose of these clowns is to disrupt as many windows users as they can, and there very well may be an underlying ulterior motive, besides just having fun, what do they have to gain. Unless, as many believe that all of this has been done by the Manufactures of Virus Software's to sell and keep selling there products.
Does it strike you odd that Apple's products and Operating Systems don't suffer from these same issues.
I could go on for days, but it's best I stop, I'm done.
Do the research.

"Windows has way more games and applications out for it. also, it has more customization and personalization."
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You think it does if you think changing the wallpaper is customization and personalization....
Have you heard from Linux? You can do more with it. OS X is based on Linux Free BSD. Apple locked it down so no one can tamper with it. It works if you use it for what was designed for. Windows in another hand, is one POS! The architecture is monolithic instead of modular like Linux is. The Explorer is embedded on the OS like a cancer.
If you are smart enough and you consider a computer tech. Linux is your answer. I am typing right now with Mandriva Linux 2007.1 Spring Edition. There are more apps for Linux than for Mac.
Computer generated movies, models, real simulators (no computer games), iPhone, some Motorola cell phones, data centers, computer clusters, mainframes and many other machines uses Linux.
You can get to the nuts and bolts of the whole system and will not ask you Cancel or Allowed.... Is immune to viruses, troyans, spyware and many other nasties. Windows NT was based A La UNIX. That is why you have a Task Manager that used PIDs, duh! Major UNIX idea there. Profiles... try Home Directories from UNIX. Win 98 was nothing but MS DOS with a GUI.
By the way.....
Linux does not have a register, so no hidden stuff to mess with.
Declared by Steve Ballmer (MS CEO) as a Cancer.
Google it and you will be amaze what are you missing.
Windows, grow up! Is nothing but a highly priced XBOX.
To answer the question...
"What makes Windows better then Mac?"
Is NOTHING, just that people puts up with a bad OS because they do not know anything else to turn to or do not want to learn anything new.

More support for windows.........more people build games, software and hardware that supports windows over the mac OS and I'm guessing your talking about their operating systems because now the Mac's do support having windows as a main OS. Mac's do have more speed normally they both are great systems. Mac's do have the same problem with viruses not to many exist for this OS. Basically it's like blueray and hd dvd more people are supporting and buying blueray. So what does your neighbor and more movie companies make more of the blueray discs. More people run windows so software companies are building more software for windows.

Windows supports a lot more hardware combinations than Mac and allows people to mix and match and put their ideal systems together. Supporting all this sometimes leads to compatibility issues, but I would live with this rather than the limited expandability of a typical Mac.
