Syria says
SYRIA AT U.N.
"We think the Israeli purpose behind such an aggressive act is to torpedo the peace process, to torpedo the idea of holding an international conference," Syrian Ambassador Bashar Ja'afari told reporters.
Asked about Hezbollah's weapons, Ja'afari said, "This is blah, blah. This is nonsense, this is an unfounded statement. It is not up to the Israelis or anyone else to assess what we have in Syria."
"There was no target," he added. "They dropped their munitions. They were running away after they were confronted by our air defense."

Israel says
Israel has declined comment on the strikes.
however
Israeli public radio stations, which like all media in the country are under military censorship, led morning news bulletins with a New York Times report that U.S.officials had said Israel carried out the strikes-and that U.S. officials believed Syria may have obtained nuclear material. While some officials speculated that Syria and North Korea had opened some form of cooperation on nuclear weapons, other U.S. officials and former intelligence officials told Reuters that seemed unlikely and technically difficult.

and the US
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. officials on Wednesday confirmed Israel launched air strikes against Syria last week and said they were to target weapons Israel believes were headed for the militant group Hezbollah.
One defense official dismissed speculation Israel had aimed for any nuclear-related target. Two others said the target included weapons Israeli and U.S. officials have said Iran provides to Hezbollah through Syria.
"They saw a weapons flow," one official said, referring to weapons caches intended for Hezbollah, which fired thousands of rockets into Israel during a 36-day conflict last year.
It was still unclear whether Israel hit its targets in the September 6 air strikes.

Israel seems to do it's fair share of provking -
What would your reaction be if someone flew over American air space because they suspected the US has been using chemical weapons ?

So what is alternative "D"?
If Israeli air forces turned back they had a position to hit that once that position became impossible to secretly or quickly hit - they refused to give it away -by fighting and going to the target that may have moved as a result of the air fight
They may have tried to pass off the incursion as another nations doing not Israels and so when they were clearly identified the mission was over
The story that has been confirmed by the US is that the nuclear thing would be unlikely and difficult for Syria to do
Also that it is unclear of wether or not Israel hit the targets intended -
Since they were caught in Syrian air space and turned without incident
Somthing is up - and Israel lost the advantage by being seen - and so left This seems logical
So what is your D or E or F then

You and I have exactly the same information so let's look at this logically without bias to the best of our abilities .
A. If Israel was really trying to mess-up the peace process , then why only 1 incursion and 1 apparent bombing ? One incursion and one bombing will not mess-up the peace process . Several would. . . . maybe , but Israel has the capability to do hundreds and thousands so why didn't they if that was their purpose ?
B. Take a good look at Ja'afari's statement . That's not a denial that there WAS some critical weapons to be scrutinized . That's more like 'Mind your own business' . Therefore implying that maybe they DO have nuclear material .
C. And the laughable one " They were running away when confronted by our air defense" .....LMAO , oh really . First-off , confronting them would have certainly 'torpedoed' the peace process . So that theory is gone . Secondly , I'm quite sure Israel WANTS to confront the Syrian air defenses and will do so if threatened .
In conclusion , no matter where one stands politically , the Syrian story is just that . . . . a story . And based upon the Syrians own words , I do not believe them .

Israel was not supporting the rebels. The IDF took out a shipment of weapons bound for terrorists, nothing more and nothing less. I know asking this in the Ramadan section gets all the anti-Israel users but it it does not change the facts or the truth of the matter. Israel has no desire to assist Syrian rebels. The "Arab spring" was not that kind to Israel. Israel has a right to protect herself and an obligation to protect it's citizens.

What I want to know is, if The Bible is made up, why in the hell does the world have to recognise laws and borders issued by a G-d that may or may not exist? Where is the separation of church and state reflected on the countries the US, for reasons I won't get into, supports? If it's all crockery, then why are there "holy wars" if all of that is just a bunch of hoo-ha? Happy Rosh Hashanna, by the way.

Well I just read that it may have been the start of a Syrian nuclear facility that was bombed and they believe the material was coming from Iran and North Korea...I surly do not want Iran and Syria to have nukes.

Let's cherry pick a news story to make Israel look bad, and ignore the daily bombings against Israeli women and children, and civilians by Israel's Arab neighbors.
I guess because it happens every day it's no longer evil.
I love how nations like Iran and Syria can threaten all of their neighbors, supply arms and funding to terrorist organizations, violate nuclear proliferation treaties, and abuse basic human rights, but when Israel violates Syria's holy air space all of a sudden the world comes to a screeching halt.
What? You big bad bully! You flew into our air space after we repeatedly supplied weapons and funding to the terrorists who attack your citizens every single day, and threatened to wipe your country off of the map, publicly and explicitly! You great Satan, you!
